Il giorno della Liberazione - 25 april

And today is ferie (holiday) for the Italian Liberation Day, from the fascism when the Allied troops supposedly "landed" and "liberated" Italy from the bloody hands of Mussolini.

Sounds intriguing enough albeit the actual process was somewhat more "al rallentatore" —as say the Italians, "scene by scene"— the Allied, especially the Yankees, as a matter of fact didn't do a thing, lounging along the Mediterranean coast strategising and, eventually, yes, stormed the fascist from the south (Sicily) as to corner the baddies (area Northern Italy/ South Germany).

There's many "feste" (parties) let alone impromptu street celebrations (think the French Bastille Day in Paris). More sombre commemorations by the President, PM, ministers, and senators in Campidoglio, Rome, this morning.

Dan liburan aux escargots saya pun berakhir. Senang sekali kembali ke France, setelah tiga tahun lamanya ngga menghirup aroma baguette di pagi hari (sayangnya saya ngga bisa bilang aroma arabica, karena kopi Perancis tidak en par dengan espresso di Italia, viva caffé italiano).

Singkat cerita, sedikit sum up, hal menakjubkan yang telah saya alami kali ini:

1. mencoba magret de canard di resto perancis di Nice, citarasa dan service impaccable.

2. melihat pétanque dimainkan di mana-mana - life is sublime in the Mediterrenean.
3. AKHIRNYA, di Musée des Beaux-Arts Lyon, melihat beberapa pieces Picasso, Rubens, Rembrandt, hmm ... break yang menyegarkan dari artis Italia.

4. gateau croquant aux amandes, di patesserie lokal, tampak antik, di Vieux Lyon.
5. tourte de blette, gateau specialité niçoise. Oh la la lezat nian.

Woaaah ... dan seorang teman bertanya, Kamu menyukai lebih yang mana France atau Italia.

Jawab saya, j'aime tous les deux.

Ah oui oui c'est ça mon vieux.

Woaaah, saya punya terlalu banyak cerita dan ilustrasi akan negeri Gallic tercinta ini. France bak rumah ke-sekian bagi saya, setelah IDN, AUST, ITA, hmm entah apa jadinya jika, au contraire dari memutuskan untuk hinggap ke negeri pasta dan pannacotta, saya memilih studi di France ini? Pertanyaan bodoh yang tak perlu dijawab.

Dan minggu ini France pun, sembari bersiap menghadapi datangnya musim terik dan kebakaran hutan di Selatan, rakyat perancis semuanya keluar rumah untuk menyambangi terpaan ultraviolet 26°C.
